Freakin Gringa!!!!!!

Well, haha I dont know what I ate or what kind of bug bit me... but my stomache is NOT happy! haha being a gringa sucks sometimes.

Speaking of gringos... today we went to a mall to buy groceries and to eat lunch and I saw like three or four gringos! There I was walking along WHEN I HEARD ENGLISH! I wanted to go talk to them so bad. They were like three or four little grandmas and grandpas haha tourists yo supongo. But it was just weird seeing lol... gringos look funny!

When I walked into the mall today I felt like a caveman that had travel through time.. I hadnt been in something so americanized in like....8 months? haha the truth is being there with so much stuff, and music, and people, and just... I dont know.. normal stuff stressed me out haha so we werent there for much time... haha I dont know what I am gonna do when I get home!

As for investigators and baptism and all that stuff.... we are kinda going through a dry spell... haha we walk and walk and walk... Its a little disappointing somedays. We feel like we are running in circles. We have invited SO MANY PEOPLE to baptism in these weeks.. but so far weve just gotta keep looking! I know God has prepared these people... we just gotta find them!

Oh.. and the pope came to Ecuador so thats exciting I guess. But everyone is freaking out and always asks us what we think of the pope. Its a little funny- I told my companion we should try to take a pic with him. SELFIE;) haha Mormon missionaries with the pope. Classic.

I know God is here in this work! Love you all!

Also, face wash that normally costs 4 or 5 dollars in the US...is THIRTEEN DOLLARS here.... grr.. and yes I bought it haha (I was desperate okay??)

ALSO......... 13 months in the mission!! What??

Marriage!

So this week has been full of lots of different emotions, for starters, as you know I didnt have transfers but another sister in my zone did... and now? SISTER HOBBS IS IN MY ZONE! Woohoo! Good old memories from the MTC over a year ago!

Also, this week we had a baptism! A woman named Jana got married to Yovani this week.. and this Saturday she got baptized! (He was already a member, but now is reactivated) We got to go to her wedding, so that was cool. It was just at the city building and they just signed papers... but it was really special because she has wanted to get baptized for over 10 years!!! She told me that God just wanted her to learn patience until I got there to help them out. Haha, so that was really special :)

This week... hmmm.... nothing new is gonna happen but its the last week of June (when did that happen?????) Time goes by way way way way fast.

OH YEAH. I almost forgot... so story for the week, there we were walking in the street when all of the sudden a drunk man walks out of a bar (like a little old drunk man) so we crossed the street and started walking on the other side. When he saw me he started to yell HEY YOU.... COME HERE GUAPAS and so we started to walk a little faster. When we walked faster so did he.... and when I looked back HE STARTED TO RUN!!! haha I just about crapped my pants. So we both start to run for like two whole blocks until we hurry and ran into a little minni market store thing and the man at the store pretended that we werent there until the grandpa went away... hahaha it was scary when it happened but so so so FUNNY after, we about died laughing. And then we talked to the man at the store about the church. Haha... so that was cool!

Anything else?

haha Um... we need to find more investigators because we've had to leave quite a few because they dont wanna come to church. But I know if we keep working hard God will help us out :)

I love being a missionary! Ya mismo voy a tener 13 meses en la misión!

Well...

Well, transfers came and went! I was sure I was gonna be transfered but (lucky me) I wasnt. Im still in Esperanza with Sister Velez.

This week went by so fast, we went to guayaquil for two conferences (one with a couple of zones, and another just for Sisters) and we got to do a session in the temple! So we didnt have much time to work, but the conferences were really cool.

It looks like you guys are enjoying summer. It makes me laugh that you guys think you are having hot weather. USTEDES NO CONOCEN EL SOL! Haha, its still really hot here (surprise, I know) but im becoming a big baby, because if im in the shade for too long and there is a little breeze I get goosebumps. Needless to say when I come home I am going to die.

This week just flew by, I feel like I never have time for anything its always just go go go go! haha

The other day when we were at the beach it was super funny because we are so used to walking like "missionaries" or in other words, relly fast that we were trying to enjy a nice walk by the beach and we finished in like 2 seconds haha... oops!

All is well in ecuador, everyday we see miracles. Sometimes I forget that I live in ecuador. Until I walk into a house and there is a goat in the living room. Ive been away from home for so long that everything before just seems like a dream. Like I have been a missionary my whole life and that all the expiriences that I had before are just clips from a movie that I saw a really long time ago. Its a really weird feeling... haha I dont know how to explain it!

I love you all so much.
You are real right? Not just a dream? haha

P.S...... I just really love rice.
I ate something really weird the other day... its called Bollo de pescado. LOOK IT UP

One year later... What the heck??

Well, I have blisters again. Big ones too! I dont know how I am still getting blisters.. one year later and I still got them. Dont worry I was super cruel and took pictures haha

This week was super awesome! We had so much success and we had people in church aswell! Which is super good because it was stake conference and two general authorities came. Elder Calderon (de ecuador) and ELder Waddell (de the USA) . AND my mission president and his wife. When we arrived he told us "Hey sisters, how are you doing. Did you bring anyone??" and we just about had a heart attack, but luckily we had three people come that day so he went and introduced himself! It was weird! haha, but awesome. Also, I decided that gringos are just really weird. I am so used to seeing latinos that when I see gringos it kind of weirds me out haha THEY ARE SO TALL. AND SO WHITE! haha

Last Pday we went to the beach and collected sea shells. It was so much fun! We were gonna just grab ike 10 each... but we ended up bringing home about 100 each... hahaha so right now in the house we have about 200 sea shells. Somos locas yo lo se!

Today we are gonna go back to the beach to have a picnic :) Im super excited. My companion is awesome and we get along really good. Sometimes we drive eachother a little nuts I think, but thats normal when you have to be with one person for 24 hours each day haha

Well, Ive already been with her one cambio (6 weeks) and the next transfers will be here next monday- I really dont want to leave here! I hope that I dont have cambios! I love my sector and my companion!

AND GUESS WHAT! IM GOING TO THE TEMPLE THIS MIÉRCOLES! WOHOOOOOOOO! I am one happy missionary.

I love you all! Have a good week!

This week we found lots of investigators... so now for this new week we will be inviting quite a few people to baptism! Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers!

One Year!!!!!

This week I have officially been a missionary for a year! WHAT?! Where did all the time go?? Its actually really super duper terrifying to think I will be going home in 6 months. I feel like everything that happened before my mission was just a dream.... and now its super bitter sweet.

This week we went to Guayaquil to have a conference. It was weird being back in the city. I felt like a caveman that had been trapped in the ice for millions of years and then when everything unthaws I dont know what technology is ... haha or traffic! lol just kidding, its not THAT bad, but it was pretty weird.

We have found some really good people here in our sector so we have been working with them to see if anyone is going to progress. POR FIN WE HAD PEOPLE IN THE CHURCH! It made me SO happy.... our hard work is finally paying off! lol

My companion is good, she talks quite a bit, and just about herself our her life and stuff like that.. it gets really boring but I try my hardest to pay attention to what she says, jaja but sometimes im just so sleepy!

I am trying my best to make every day count... because I know that six months is just gonna fly by. I love you all so much! I pray for you all everyday!.... Are you doing your family home evenings??? haha dont make me come over there!
