It's go time!

I'm going to the ECUADOR, GUAYAQUIL WEST MISSION, like what? I couldn't be more excited! its crunch time now though. I report in less than 72 days and have a huge list of things to do. I will never feel prepared but I might as well try, right?

I took Spanish in high school, but its also been a year since then, and even if it hadn't I cant really do more than say "Hi, my names Megan. I like dogs." (I'm exaggerating... but still. I'm freaking out!)

As scared as I am, I couldn't be more excited.  I know this is where the Lord needs me and I cant wait to serve the people of Ecuador for the next year and a half of my life.

If you wanna watch me open my mission call, here is a little video that I made. Enjoy!

Procrastination Station! Toot-Toot!

What a better way to procrastinate homework/studying than to do something completely unrelated!
(and more fun)

So, surprisingly my time in Rexburg has gone by pretty quickly, its almost time for me to head on back to good 'ole Minnesota! Eh?
(Funny side story: Idaho has been getting pretty dang cold lately and the other day some people were talking  about what track system they were on and when they asked mine I answered "I'm fall/spring" and they replied with "man you're so lucky, you get to skip out on winter semester and go home to some place warm, Idaho is freezing!" I couldn't help but laugh.... Minnesota? Warm? Ya-No. It will be even COLDER in Minnesota. Suck it up ya big babies!)

Anyways.......
Every college student knows that end of semester also means you have (Butt-Loads) of stuff to do. Packing, cleaning, studying, finals, homework, papers, projects, etc.....

WHEN WILL THIS END.
I am so beyond ready for a break.
I have been going to school without breaks for OVER a year now.
Senior year in high school -----> Summer semester in Provo -----> Fall semester in Idaho
It's about time I run on home to my family, I cant wait to see them!

Meanwhile, I will be here in Rexburg (trying to) study and get ready to leave.
And chances are, whoever is reading this is procrastinating as well so I might as well make things interesting for you. Enjoy the following pictures!

I don't know why... but this is hilarious to me.

Yup.

And that tells you everything you need to know men.

I feel like the fact that I own a wiener dog makes it okay that I post this picture. Hahahaaaa... Maybe not but who cares :)

AND HERE IS SOME MOTIVATION TO GET OFF THE INTERNET AND KEEP GOING!

Good-Luck!

XOXO Until next time,

Late-Night Pizza (Experiences of a college student)

Hello everyone,

Just sitting here on a random Friday night with nothing going on so I thought I'd make a quick post. College life is pretty much what everyone says it is. In simple terms I'd say it's tiring, stressful, exciting, busy, fun, crazy, overall it is an adventure. Here are some random things that have gone on the past two semesters to explain what I mean:

1. Late/early trips to Denny's!
This summer me and my friends would randomly find ourselves hungry around one in the morning so we would think to ourselves "Why not?" It taught me that pancakes taste good at ANY time.

2. Movie Marathons
No joke, I do not think me or my roommate Emily have ever seen so many movies in this short of a time span in our entire lives. From Disney to romance we have pretty much watched it all!

3. Homework Binges
Okay... I know this isn't a GOOD thing but its impressive nonetheless. Lets just say sometimes I let procrastination get the best of me so there are some days where it is non-stop cramming.

4. Creative shopping
This one is funny yet sad. What I mean by it is obviously, being a college kid, I am broke. This however, gives me the opportunity to get creative with planning meals and grocery shopping all the while paying for gas!

5. Weird Sleep Schedule
Late nights early mornings, early nights, late mornings! With different classes throughout the week my sleep is never really "scheduled" sometimes I sleep in some days I get up early!
(lets just say, on the early days I do NOT look cute)

6. Roomies
My roommate as you guys know is my friend Emily Briggs and its been great! We are both stubborn as heck and always driving each other nuts but I wouldn't trade her for anyone! Having a roommate is like having a sleepover with your best friend every night!

College has been great and definitely a new experience. There are some things that suck but even the cons help me learn and grow as a person! I love college and I love the experiences it has brought me!

-Tired of laundry, homework, and ramen but loving it all the same!

XOXO- a student named Megan

Life

So this post is a little different than what I usually do, but I've been thinking about a lot of stuff lately and am at a point in my (young) life where I'm going to be making some very important decisions, decisions that really effect my future. I've felt so overwhelmed and stressed lately. I've started new things have gotten a few new responsibilities and I've realized a lot of time has passed! I'm not a little kid anymore! High school just flew by and now I'm a senior. I'm going to be gone next year. I'm applying to college in just a few months. So many important things have suddenly just swelled up and slapped me in the face. Of course I always will have the "I wish I did better at this" "I wish this didn't happen" " I wish I wish I wish.." but the things is, I don't really regret anything. My decisions alone brought me to where I am and I alone have to face the consequences whether they are good or bad. I'm scarred of what my future holds, heck, who isn't? Everything is so unsure it can become really intimidating. However something I do know is that no matter what  happens I will be okay. God has plans for me. They may not match up perfectly with mine but I know that I will be okay. I know that with faith and hard work I will not have to stand alone.
Goodnight everyone,
-Meg

Summer Homework

......Well usually my post are pretty positive.... but I just need to vent a little bit about school. Some of you might be thinking "School? It's summer...Why is she mad about school?" BUT me being the dummy that I am, decided to sign up for two AP classes, and now I am responsible for AP summer homework. Two (really old) books, essay questions/packet....Yay. Trip to the library is now on my to-do list. Seeya

Wizard of Oz, Birthday, Duke, and Countdown to Prom :)

Dear everyone that reads this blog (Which is probably only a handful),

I'm sorry I fell off the face of the earth. BUT I'm back, and in my defense I have been incredibly busy. Every ounce of my time has been dedicated to the musical and school. Literally. There was a week where I left for seminary at 6:00 and didn't get home untill 11:00 at night, pulled out of class 3 hours early for Tech and lots homework everyday. In the end it was all worth it, the show turned out great! Me and one of my friends Clarissa got to know eachother more and had a lot of good times and over all it was a (Stressful) but great expirience.

ANNNNNNNNND GUESS WHAT?? I'm now 17. Yesterday, April 28th, was my birthday. It was a great day, Cameron got to come over, we played games, watched movies, and of course....ate cake. (My mom got me an Elmo cake, haha she's the best.) Cool little fact is that Cam's birthday is the day after mine so we celebrated his too! It was fun. :)

I got him a "Minni Movie Theater" lol Popcorn, movies, candy, and rootbeer :)
This is the "Miller" style birthday opening ;) Super crazy i'm sure we scared him a little, lol :)
He put the presents he got me in a pinata.. :) Super creative :)
 Lots of fun :)
Elmo cake.. :) Thanks Mom :)
Not a flattering pic, but I like it :)
Next topic to talk about is *DRUM ROLL* WE GOT A NEW PUPPY!?!?!?! His name is Duke and he is an 8-week-old Boxer. We love him, he's really soft, and spunky.

And LAST but not LEAST prom is this Saturday!!! I am so excited! I have a dress, shoes, date (Hehe) and i'm SET TO JET. I can't wait!

Love, Megan

P.s. Im sorry for such a long post!

Exercise and Everything Unexpected

Hellllllooooo, Haha I have been crazy busy! Tomorrow is the last day of quarter three in my High School so I had to make sure all my grades and assignments were up to par.

Now that that's over I can finally breathe! THANK GOODNESS. I have just felt so uptight about things it feels good to kinda be slowing down. I've finally been able to things that I WANT to do (Believe it or not) One thing thats kinda cool, the other day me and one of my friends Clarissa were talking about BYU (the college I wanna go to) and saying how I don't have very many extra curricular activities so she told me I should join the tech crew for the musical! So I did! It is actually really cool we get to build things like stairs, paint sets, run props, make trap doors, a lot of cool stuff! It was really sudden and unexpected but i'm glad that I get to participate in it.

Another random thing is that i'm now a member of Anytime Fitness, haha it's actually a lot of fun, I go there acouple times a week, get all gross and sweaty, work on my muscles and cardio then go home and shower. I enjoy being active and in shape and it makes me feel really good about myself!

Well speaking of working out... haha I better get going. Seeya next time!

P.S. Prom dress status: I GOT ONE :) (I cant really tell you about it though because it's a surprise)
Car status: Fixed and independent once more ;)

My car is a spaz....... Oh Goodie

Hello again, man this week has just been one of those weeks I guess. Long, boring, bad luck, awkward moments you name it! I have to say though, my little car, has been the biggest hitter so far this time around. Wanna know why? No? Who cares, i'll tell you anyway. Acouple days ago me and my older sister Jess were driving to the mall when all the sudden the temperature light came on and a beeper kept going off. It was NOT good, we ended up calling my mom, pulling over more than twice, and hurrying home so we didnt explode. (Okay.. maybe it wasnt as dramatic as exploding...but you get my point.) Anyways we took it to a repair shop where they told us many phrases in which I did not understand. Some such as radiator, crack, tube, leak, and so on. Two things I did understand though were 1. Broken, and 2. expensive. So whoopdie doo, car pools, bus rides, and lack of independence. See ya next time.

Stresses and dresses!

My oh my, one word: Prom. It confuses me the way some girls approach this. They are more like wild animals crouched down in attack mode ready to pounce at the first boy, dress, shoes, makeup (even underwear) that they need to make their night perfect. I myself, am excited (SO EXCITED) however dreading the quickly approaching need for a dress. I'm preparing myself for the dangerous activity of hunting for something to wear. Some girls are talented in this activity, they may even enjoy it! On the other hand theres me, going from store to store only to face the dangers ahead of me. Squeezing into dresses that don't come in my size, becoming entangled in the confusing contraptions with more straps than most parachutes, and suficating myself in the many layers of dresses I try on, all in hopes to find "The one." Wish me luck? Untill next time, seeya then.
